  2. The Beginning (1854-1892)
Louis Vuitton was born in Anchay, Jura, France in 1821. He moved from his hometown in 1835 at the age of fourteen. Two years later, he arrived in Paris and apprenticed for luggage- and trunk-maker Monsieur Marechal. Vuitton was trained in the art of fine-luggage creation, while working as a luggage packer for upscale Parisian families. This experience gave him insight into the world of luggage and the needs of travelers, serving him well when he launched his own luggage design business to serve wealthy, traveling Parisians.
  3. Pre-1980s:
French Company - no date code (tyvek-like tag only)
Saks Fifth Avenue - no date code (stamp only)
Fabric Design - no date code (stamp only)

    1980s:
    3 numbers YYM - 821 is January 1982
    4 numbers YYMM - 8312 is December 1983
    2 letters 3 numbers LL YYM - TH 863 is March 1986

    2007: 2 letters 4 numbers LL WYWY - TH 3077 is 37th week of 2007
  4. Date codes since the 90's consists of two letters followed by four numbers. The first two letters tell you "the
country where it is made" and the numbers tell you the "month and year it was manufactured".
For defination of letters, refer to the following: (Be aware that this list is not complete and only Louis Vuitton
has the complete list. The following is generated from personal experience):
France: A1, A2, AA, AO, AC, AN, AR, AS, BA, BJ, CT, DU, ET, FL, FR, MB, MI, NO, ND, RA, RI, SD, SL, SN, SP, SR, TH,
    VI, VR
USA: FC, FH, FF, LA, OS, SD
Spain: CA, LO, LB, LM, LW
    Italy: CE, MA, SA
    Germany: LP
  5. The Louis Vuitton logo, a Japanese-inspired flower motif, has been synonymous with luxury since it was first introduced in 1896. The famous monogram logo was created as a way to prevent counterfeiting of the Parisian company's designer luggage. This marks the appearance of the very first 'designer label' as we have come to understand it in the contemporary marketplace. Ironically, Louis Vuitton has since become the most heavily counterfeited brand in fashion history, with only 1% of all Louis Vuitton-branded items in circulation considered authentic.
  6. About Prada:
Prada was founded in 1913 in Milan by Mario Prada and was originally known as Prada Brothers. In 1978, Mario's granddaughter Miuccia Prada led the company's expansion into distinctive clothing that quickly became a favorite among celebrities worldwide. Currently, Prada is one of the most influential clothing lines in the fashion industry, with an iconic collection that includes sunglasses, handbags, and shoes in addition to men's and women's clothing.

  7. The Prada brand dates back to the beginning of the last century. In 1913, Mario Prada opened a luxury store in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, selling leather handbags, travelling trunks, leather accessories and beauty cases, luxury accessories and articles of value. Thanks to its exclusively designed goods, handcrafted using fine materials and sophisticated techniques, Prada rapidly became a point of reference for European aristocracy and the most elegant members of the haute-bourgeoisie in Europe.
  8. PRADA LOGOS

It should be attached securely on all three corners to the bag.
If you you run your fingers across the logo, you should be able to feel that the letters and symbols on the logo are slightly raised.
The color of the enamel on the logo must match or be very close to the color of the purse.
The logo itself have a nice thickness to it.
The placement of the letters, their size and spacing are all proportionate to each other.
Some style of bags will have Prada embossed on the bag instead of the usual and very popular Prada triangle logo.
